There are few few things that describe tech week as well as a late night stop at Steak N Shake. It's always darkest before the dawn, and that dawn is just approaching the horizon. We finished tech and had a run-through with all of the elements that make Whoville.... Whoville! Everything took another leap forward today, thanks to hard work from absolutely every side. 24 hours from now, we will have shared this with an audience! While the days can be long, the rehearsal period as a whole has seemed to fly by. There's been no shortage of things to learn, people to meet, etc. Relief can come in different forms... last night it was the hot tub melting away the aches and bruises. Tonight, however, there was a group of us who were craving relief in the form of a throwback meal. I'm talking about a burger and shake, folks. Not just any burger and shake, I may add, as I opted for the Wisconsin Butterburger and cookie dough milk shake. This was my night cap heading into opening night- can't think of anything better to lull me to sleep where I can continue to dream of burgers and dairy products of any and every variety. Inhaling this delicious insult to my arteries was only half the fun. What was even better was that I had a chance to get to know some of my amazing Who-family outside of the theatre. What an incredible group- to not only be spot on and professional, but just GOOD people! I'm so blessed to know them and to continue the process of getting to know them more and more. So many incredible talents with interesting stories- gotta squeeze everything I can out of the following 9 weeks! The burger now calls me onward into La-La Land, so I must retire for the evening. Believe me, with the exciting events to take place in the next 48 hours, there will be plenty to write home about! |
